A Ribble Valley Wedding

I absolutely adore this colour combination and with only the colours `red' and `pink' as a guide the whole scheme came together beautifully. The couple met and still work on a Disney cruise entertaining the little people which explains the bridesmaids Toy Story pyjama suits when I arrived to deliver the bouquets and the Disney props used in the photobooth.

The couple opted for the bouquets and buttonholes to be put together by ourselves and bought buckets of cut flowers and foliage for wedding party to create the table decorations themselves. This left room in their budget to have a frame of hanging flowers which was the backdrop to their wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and then the photobooth! A definite workhorse!

An October Wedding

Charlotte came to visit me with her Mum and her sister on a snowy day way back in February. We seemed to click straight away and in many ways I felt we were quite similar. She blushed at the thought of making that walk down the aisle to meet her man, all eyes on her, something I was terrified of doing too!

From the language she was using I felt I knew just what she wanted for her flowers, natural, textural, messy even....nothing too perfect or structured.

The Story of a British Flower Wedding

After the success of our Garden Hideaway of 2015 we decided to tell the story of a British flower wedding. The interior of the shed provides a haven for a bride and includes mood boards, fabric samples, inspirationall magazines, books and stunning flower arrangements. The exterior demonstrates the life cycle of the British flower wedding from seed to flower, to a selection of wedding inspired floral designs. All flowers grown by NW members of Flowers From The Farm, a not-for-profit organisation promoting the growing and use of British blooms.

Designed by the NW area members and led by Clair Jee of Patch to Posy.

Country Church and Rivington Barn

Posted on: 17 Jan 2018

Sally and Dave are such a gorgeous couple who pretty much knew to the finest detail what they wanted for their romantic wedding at St James' Church in Brindle and Rivington Barn.

They came to me with an extensive Pinterest board full of beautiful floral images in the palest of colours including peonies, astilbes and the palest of pink hydrangeas.

The flowers worked perfectly with the smart blue suits and the City blue bridesmaids dresses and the whole scheme throughout was just beautiful from the brides bouquet, the milk churn arrangements at the door of the church to the simple yet very elegant jars filled with matching flowers.

Our Garden Hideaway!

Posted on: 11 Sep 2016
Earlier in the year the North West members of Flowers from the Farm were approached by the RHS to enter a design at RHS Tatton Flower Show in July under a new feature called Garden Hideaways. The brief: 'We give you a 6 x 4ft shed. You have the ultimate creative power to transform the shed into a wondrous creation that no gardener has ever seen before. The shed should be designed as a haven at the bottom of your garden for sanctuary and creativity, a place that showcases your passions and interests.'

Could we do that? Do we have the resources and the collective skills required to pull it off ? Like falling off the edge of a cliff we agreed that we should go for it and after  a good few emails, meet ups, pots of tea and cake we had a plan in place for our very own Cut Flower Garden Hideaway. With strength in numbers it was incredible to see what we had managed to create in principle and I sketched our ideas onto paper.IMG_3989

About Felicity Farm Flowers

I love bringing the outdoors in

Inspired by my young daughter Felicity’s love of picking flowers from our farmhouse garden I became interested in growing flowers specifically for cutting. Sweet peas, larkspur, cosmos and other Summer flowers soon took over the garden and before long had taken over the adjacent field too.

As my family has grown so has my love of flowers and creating original, naturally styled designs is what I absolutely love to do. By embracing seasonality I can ensure that no two designs are the same, there are always new flowers to incorporate – unusual home grown narcissi and tulips in Spring, stunning peonies in June, followed by show stopping dahlias of late Summer.

Working from a rustic converted stable on the farm I offer a very friendly and personal approach, with consultations over a cup of tea to discuss your requirements. Whichever look you choose, `just-picked’, vintage, bohemian, industrial....my flowers are always fresh for the occasion and either picked from my own cutting garden during the Summer months, sourced from other local cut flower growers or carefully selected from the flower market.

So please get in touch if you think I can help you. I’m always happy to talk flowers!
